Project and Portfolio II

Helping to setup a presentation is much easier than it seems. People may look at a setup containing a sound console, a flypack, lighting trees, projectors, TVs and feel overwhelmed. I learned quickly that when you understand how signal flows from the source to the destination, it makes things much easier. The idea applies for XLR snakes and I/O for audio equipment, wiring SDI for TVs and digital multiplex routing for light controllers, and the attached spotlights. Visualizing the flow in my mind made it easier to troubleshoot minor issues.

My knowledge of cameras and watching directors in film and TV work gave me a bit of an advantage in this area. I seemed to be the only one in my class fearless of dealing with the camera, and the video switcher, both technologies of which I've learned the basics of immediately.
